GloFAS v4.1

A minor release of the Copernicus Emergency Management Service (CEMS) Global Flood Awareness System (GloFAS), version 4.1, has been launched operationally on Wednesday 28 February 2024. 

GloFAS version 4.1 introduces several minor changes to the system, including:

  • Increased offering of forecast variables made available through the Climate Data Store. See Model Output page for details. The data will also be made available for the reanalysis: 
    • Snow Depth Water Equivalent
    • Soil Wetness Index (root-zone)
    • Runoff Water Equivalent (surface plus subsurface),
      • Note: there is a slight delay for the release of Runoff Water Equivalent variable, it will be made available as soon as possible. 
  • Improved reporting point layer, with additional metadata available for 'dynamic reporting points'. 
  • Improved information on the GloFAS map viewer (updated legends and layer titles). 
  • GloFAS Flood thresholds available for various return periods, see Auxiliary Data pages for GloFAS v4.0 flood threshold files.

GFM v3.0.0

A major release of the CEMS Global Flood Monitoring product (GFM) has been launched operationally on January 25th 2024: GFM v3.0.0

This survey will allow you to share your feedback and provide suggestions about GloFAS and/or GFM service and products. The questionnaire should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete, and it will close on March 14th, 2024. The results of the previous surveys (reference years 2022 and 2021), and the corresponding follow-up actions have be published here.
